The Spirit Messages Daily Guidance Oracle deck has a similar vibe but is much less linked to Tarot. Even though I love Tarot, I actually prefer this deck to his Psychic Tarot one. It contains some really interesting ideas, and the guidance can really help us when we are struggling.
The Spirit Messages Daily Guidance Oracle Deck Review
Okay, let’s get onto the review! First, the box. The box these cards come in is made of sturdy cardboard which makes for good storage. I like the colors and the general vibe of it, and it definitely feels exciting to hold before taking the cards out!
It is in a similar style to other John Holland decks, but I really feel like there is something more special about this one. It feels more thought-out and more passionate.
The Guidebook
The Spirit Messages Daily Guidance Oracle deck contains a guidebook about the same size as the cards. It fits nicely in the box with the cards and is quite thick full of information.
Since the cards are not numbered, each card is sorted in alphabetical order, so you won’t have much problem finding the right page in the guidebook. This is a good way of organizing the guidebook, as some other oracle deck guidebooks can be pretty confusing!
The descriptions in the guidebook are quite enough to understand the general idea behind each card. The guidebook does leave some room for your own interpretation, which to be honest, I quite like. As it is a daily guidance deck, we can use the general meaning to help a specific issue in our own life.
The Cards
I really like the imagery of the cards in the Spirit Messages Daily Guidance oracle deck. They contain people painted in a realistic style with some abstract elements. The abstract elements represent the invisible, spiritual side of human life. The cards show us the things we cannot see and the artwork really reminds me of surrealism and magical realism, which I love!
The artwork shows us burning hearts, restless minds, and reaching out hands. There is color, light, and energy scattered throughout the deck.
I am a big fan of the symbolic elements included in the imagery. Trees, birds, butterflies, flowers, and keys are all found in the cards. These things have universal meanings, but they also have personal meanings for everyone. This means that you can get so much out of one card, and find a lot of solace and meaning in each reading.
Each card has its own border color that doesn’t particularly mean anything but is a part of the color scheme of each picture. It’s a non-gilded deck and doesn’t appear too thick when stacked together, although cards are pretty wide. Being a small-handed person means that I shuffle them vertically.
On the back of the cards, we have butterflies. This is a common symbol for representing the soul or spirit, change, and transformation. And just like butterflies, our souls are attracted to the flower mandala in the center, representing spiritual enlightenment.

At the bottom of each card are a keyword and lengthy description of the card and the advice that it is giving us. With this, you have a choice. You can either let your imagination run wild and interpret the cards intuitively or just read the message and contemplate on that. You can then do research on the expanded meaning of each card in the guidebook.
Messages of each card are well-thought and inspiring, reminding us, that we are more than just a human being in a physical form, but have a spiritual aspect that we should nurture as well.
It is quite unusual to have so much information on an oracle card, and at first, I wasn’t sure if I liked it. I know a lot of readers rely heavily on their own intuition and the imagery of the card in front of them. I guess this really is down to how we choose to read the cards and what we are looking for from an oracle deck.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I’d say that this deck is totally beginner-friendly. If you never held oracle cards before, this would be a great first oracle deck to start practicing with. It’s a nice deck for receiving daily guidance and connecting with the Spirit and I do really like the imagery.
