Decade-old tarot clip resurfaces as Anirudh Ravichander and Kavya Maran plan wedding

An old tarot reading has recently gone viral online following news that music composer Anirudh Ravichander will marry Sunrisers Hyderabad CEO Kavya Maran, The Week reports. The clip, from a Thanthi TV programme hosted by Apsara Reddy, features Tamil tarot reader and astrologer Jayashree discussing Anirudh's future wife, and fans have pointed to details that appear to resemble Kavya's background, according to The Week and Outlook India.

The Telangana Chief Minister's Office confirmed that Kavya's parents invited Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to the couple's wedding reception in Chennai on November 21, 2026, and reports say the wedding ceremony itself could take place in Greece earlier that month, though the couple have not confirmed those details, per The Economic Times.

What the astrologer reportedly said a decade ago#

Jayashree reportedly told the Thanthi TV programme that Anirudh's spouse would work in sectors such as telecommunications, broadcasting or media, and would be highly educated, The Economic Times and The Week report. Kavya is an executive director at Sun TV Network, part of the Sun Group founded by her father Kalanithi Maran, and holds an MBA from Warwick Business School in the United Kingdom, according to both outlets.

A further detail involved how far apart Anirudh's residence was from his future wife's family home, which the astrologer reportedly estimated at around one or two kilometres, per The Economic Times and Zoom TV. Outlook India reports a separate detail from the same reading, that Anirudh would encounter his spouse at a social gathering and that she would be rational as well as educated.

The Free Press Journal reports additional details from the same video, including that the tarot reader said Anirudh would marry with his father's approval, that it would be a love marriage, and that the woman would not come from the film industry. NewsX adds that the reader described the family home as within two kilometres of Anirudh's.

Reaction and what remains unconfirmed#

The resemblance between the old reading and Kavya's profile has prompted social media users to revisit the clip, with one X user writing "Prediction came True... and I'm Still shocked," according to Outlook India. The Economic Times notes that the similarities remain interpretations of an astrological reading rather than independently verifiable evidence.

Anirudh dismissed marriage rumors on his X account on June 14, 2025, after a Reddit post suggested the two were in a relationship spanning over twelve months, writing "Marriage ah? lol .. Chill out guys. Please stop spreading rumours," The Week reports. Full details of the wedding venue and date remain under wraps, according to Outlook India.

Asianet Newsable reports that Kavya's parents, Sun Group Chairman Kalanithi Maran and Kavery Maran, met Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at his Jubilee Hills residence to extend the invitation, and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi also received an invitation. Anirudh accompanied his future in-laws to visit Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thalapathy Vijay as well, the outlet adds.
