Pluto turns direct in Aquarius on October 15 after a five-month retrograde

Pluto stations direct at 3 degrees 4 minutes Aquarius on October 15 at 10:40 p.m. EDT, ending a retrograde that began May 6 at 5 degrees 30 minutes Aquarius, according to the Times of India and cafeastrology.com.

The planet, which astrologers say spends roughly 20 years in each zodiac sign and goes retrograde for about five months every year, will not reverse again until May 8, 2027, AstroStyle reports.

A month with three planets changing direction#

Pluto does not turn alone this month. Venus has been retrograde since October 3, and Mercury follows on October 24, according to the Times of India.

Cafeastrology.com places the same sequence on its October calendar: Venus retrograde in Scorpio from October 3 to November 13, a New Moon in Libra on October 10, Pluto's direct station on the 15th, and Mercury turning retrograde in Scorpio on the 24th, also lasting until November 13.

The Hunter's Moon on October 26 squares Pluto almost exactly, the Times of India reports, with the outlet suggesting whatever Pluto stirs up mid-month will peak around that weekend.

What astrologers say the shift means#

Cafeastrology.com says that as Pluto moves forward, people are likely to experience greater self-assurance and drive regarding their intimate lives and shared finances, with less focus on whether past choices were correct and more on current plans.

The Times of India describes the retrograde period as a time when Pluto's effects happen mostly internally, with fears examined and power struggles replayed, while the direct station is expected to make those inner changes visible in daily life.

AstroStyle notes Pluto entered Aquarius as part of a journey that will run from 2024 to 2044, and says the planet's forward motion gives eight months to act on plans tied to technology, social equity and community ties before the next retrograde begins May 8, 2027.

Where Venus and Mercury stand#

Venus, retrograde in Scorpio since October 3, moves back into Libra on October 25 and stays reversed until November 13, according to the Times of India and cafeastrology.com.

Cafeastrology.com says the Venus retrograde gives a chance to review affections, relationships and finances, while Mercury's retrograde in Scorpio starting October 24 is framed as a period for examining instincts and emotional decision-making, with possible delays or backtracking along the way.
