California Psychics sorts its psychics by topic and by tool, such as love readings or tarot, so you can pick one who fits your question. You pay by the minute from a prepaid balance, and a reading ends when the balance runs out unless you turn on Auto Reload.

Pros & cons
Pros
- Each psychic's rate shows before you call or chat, from $5 to $23 a minute depending on their tier.
- Psychics pass a phone interview, test readings and a background check, and the site says it accepts 2 of every 100 who apply.
- If you are not happy with your first reading, you can ask for a full credit within 7 days.
Cons
- More than one new-customer offer runs at once, so check which one you are getting before you buy.
- Karma Rewards gives points on every purchase and extra points for repeat readings with favorite psychics, which rewards spending more.
- Readings are by phone, chat or text only, and the site lists no video readings.
