Jersey Shore Medium Linda Shields returns to Resorts for a Halloween show

Linda Shields, known as the Jersey Shore Medium, is returning to Resorts Casino Hotel for a show on October 30, Shore Local reports. The appearance is scheduled for 9 p.m. in the hotel's Screening Room, just before Halloween.

Shields told Shore Local that she describes herself as a translator who connects with what she calls Spirit. Her work is a form of mediumship, which Wikipedia describes as the practice of purportedly communicating between living people and spirits, including those of the dead.

Shields traces her work to childhood#

Shields said she began using her psychic senses at age 8, with help from her grandmother in understanding and using them. She told Shore Local that she has been talking to Spirit for 60 years and described that contact as a continuing part of her life.

Before focusing on mediumship, Shields used tarot cards, a practice she said she no longer follows. She told Shore Local that tarot was her first love, but that she began receiving other information from people as she progressed with the cards. She said that experience led her toward mediumship.

Shields described her purpose to Shore Local in terms of helping others understand her belief that life continues after death and that connections with loved ones remain. She also identified herself as a wife, mother and grandmother.

Resorts hosts the pre-Halloween appearance#

Shields told Shore Local that she felt comfortable the first time she went on stage. She said she prefers quiet while working and compared the sound of communicating with Spirit to talking underwater with a friend.

The show takes place at Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey. According to Wikipedia, the property opened in 1978 as the first American casino outside Nevada. It later added the Rendezvous Tower in a 2004 expansion and adopted a Roaring Twenties theme during renovations in 2011.

Breaking AC News reports that Atlantic City casinos are holding events and initiatives for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Main Line Today lists an Atlantic City Christmas parade with floats, marching bands and community performances, followed by a holiday market at O'Donnell Memorial Park.

Shore Local places Shields' return just before Halloween. Wikipedia notes that the October 31 observance is associated in popular culture with horror and the supernatural. Her Screening Room appearance is scheduled for Friday, October 30, at 9 p.m.
